This was the first time since I've lived in Italy that I've left more than a third of a pizza on a plate. The garden setting was beautiful, but I felt uncomfortable with six servers swarming like vultures around us, and maybe three other couples. We had to ask for the pizza menu because they had given us the di-pizza-ed one; I assume to insure we would spend more and pay for their over-staffing! The pizza was small, not quite filling the plate. The tomato sauce was undoubtedly straight from the jar. The crust was strange - chewy and crunchy at the same time, not horrible, but reminded me of something you'd find in the States. The flavor of the mozzarella (if it was mozzarella) was lost in a rancid mix of other cheeses. I honestly believe it doesn't get much worse than this...in Italy.

Malafemmina. Ora ho capito a che cosa si riferisce "femmina": alla pizza. E' proprio mala...non ho dovuto neanche aspettare il primo boccone per capire, è bastato l'odore mentre avvicinavo la forchetta, mi ha ricordato, in meglio, pizza hut (chi all'estero ha provato a placare la nostalgia dell'Italia in quella catena di pizzeria fastfood lo conosce). E' difficile anche separare e giudicare gli ingredienti, comunque la pasta era dura, pomodoro acido, mozzarella gommosa. Di fresco solo il ricordo della grande canzone di Totò nella mia mente.
