The first of many exchanged looks of terror came when we walked through the door to find the cash/food counter empty except for two crusty casserole dishes that looked like they'd been there a week. We sat at one of the four communal tables and observed as a number of interesting characters (obviously regulars) came in, one with a dog that scurried to eat up all the floor scraps while his owner yelled to the kitchen without a salutation, 'Can someone make me some pasta?!' Another pushed through the door with urgency, said something about free and abundant gas, and ran in the direction of the bathroom. I'm not kidding. The review of my pizza was somewhat interrupted when our waiter (the owner?) and his coworker (his son?) sat down at the table next to ours and loudly smacked on cantaloupe and prosciutto. Anyway, the pizza: my capricciosa's slices of hotdog were burnt and wilted, looking like toes left in bathwater, and the olives were so dang salty I nearly choked. Other than that, it wasn't too bad, but I had been starving and I didn't eat even a third of my pizza, so that says something!

A volte non si fa caso ai nomi delle pizzerie, ed è un male, spesso rivelano che cosa sono: 100R è il numero civico in via dei Serragli e spiega bene perchè i proprietari l'abbiano chiamata così e non "Bella Napoli": è una pizzeria che non si può chiamare tale, un bancone con 4 tavoli appiccicati accanto, e una pizza che non si può definire pizza. Ingredienti molto scadenti al limite del mangiabile, in particolare il pomodoro, la crosta biscottata che non fa bella figura ricordando quelle surgelate. Insomma, se volevano indicare che nella strada non c'è nessuna pizzeria, ma solo il numero anonimo di una progressione, ci sono riusciti pienamente.
