Disappointment first struck when I saw the waiter carrying two, smaller-than-average pizzas to our table. (I had ordered the Porcini, Fabio the Margherita; all the pizzas were on the expensive side.) He placed it in front of me, and instead of admiring the plentiful, soft bites of mushroom, I zoomed-in on the giant burnt spots on the crust. Ouch. Not to worry, it wasn't an all-out defeat. Although it was a rather wet pizza, the tomato flavor was good...and I almost always love porcini! I couldn't blow a bubble with the mozzarella, but it was almost gummy enough. Despite its size, I was full at the end. I left practically the entire crust on the plate. Score: 6. Because, ironically, it is much more satisfying to leave nothing on the plate and feel sick out of gluttony, than to feel full without delight.

La pizzeria Firenze Nova è rinomata per la sua pizza tipo Napoli, è stata una delle prime a distinguersi dalle altre. Forse è rimasta un pò schiava della sua reputazione, perchè non basta avere la crosta alta...gli ingredienti non sono un granchè, in particolare la mozzarella, che non è di qualità e addirittura era un pò bruciata. La pasta un pò gommosa, come ci si accorge cercando dopo di digerirla. Buono invece il pomodoro, anche se forse con un sapore troppo forte. Il tutto poi era troppo salato. Insomma, credo che se qualche anno fà si distingueva, ora si trova di meglio in giro. Però era pieno, la reputazione ancora resiste...E forse perchè fa anche da ristorante specializzato nel pesce, ed è in una zona in cui si trova il parcheggio davanti. Concludendo la pizza è sufficiente, un 6.5 ci sta.
