Without a sign, and tucked-in behind the MediaWorld and the Coop, Da I' Papero can be tricky to find. If the reek of fish knocks you over at the door, you're at the right place! But your nausea will soon be distracted by all the good-looking pizzas passing by. They are thick-crusted pizzas with globs of mozzarella, and at first bite, the salty, oily goodness has an almost buttery flavor. Yummy! The tomato sauce had a good amount of soupiness to it, far from the sticky paste of lesser pizzas. There were some burnt spots, but overall the taste was fresh and the pizza retained it's warmth longer than most, which made for less stressful eating and the absence of post-pizza digestion discomfort.

Nascosto dietro la Coop, ecco un locale che ispira simpatia come il suo nome. Anche le pizze sembrano uno scherzo, con una crosta alta e rotondeggiante che incornicia la base, tipo se uno la dovesse fare con il pongo; la pasta è buona, leggera, si scioglie in bocca. La mozzarella si vede che è fresca e di buona qualità, alti livelli per la media di Firenze anche se ne ho sentite di migliori. Il pomodoro forse è l'ingrediente peggiore, di un sapore un pò forte per una pizza. Complessivamente quindi il giudizio è positivo e visto che le migliori pizzerie sono in centro, qui sicuramente non c'è il problema del parcheggio.
